The 6 car launches that you cannot miss in July 2014

July is an exciting month for automotive enthusiasts with 6 new models of cars from various manufacturers being launched. The cars range from hatchbacks to sports SUVs and luxury hybrid sedans and they will make you want to hold on to your seat or you will fall over from excitement.
Volkswagen, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Tata, Honda and Porsche are launching new models of cars to suit a variety of customer needs and requirements. There have already been many car launches this month making July the most active month yet when it comes to car launches in 2014.
Here are the 6 car launches in July 2014 that you need to know about-

Porsche Macan
Porsche has had a successful run with the Porsche Cayenne sports SUV which may have been touted as the worst looking SUV in modern time by some and we agree but the performance figures are not ugly at all. Porsche Macan aims at targeting the Indian users which will basically be a scaled down version of the Porsche Cayenne with a price tag that makes a smaller hole in your pocket.
As of now, the Porsche Macan is not going to be manufactured in India and getting your hands on it will be via CBU (completely built unit) import way like the Hyundai Santa Fe.
The Porsche Macan is expected to be priced around Rs 70 lakh which makes it a direct competitor to the much loved Audi Q7.

BMW 7 Series Hybrid
BMW will launch the BMW 7 series with a hybrid engine to lower your carbon footprint and make operations more economical for the Bravarian beast on July 23, 2014. The luxury long base model is the first model from the fleet of the German manufacturer that offers a hybrid engine. The 3 liter petrol engine will be supported with an electric engine that will power the car at low speeds and economic driving with the petrol engine kicking in for high performance driving.
The benefit with the hydrid version of the car, as with all hybrids, is that you can travel up to 14.7 kilometers per liter. The electric engine is not down on power and coupled with the petrol engine, the beast can reach 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
The BMW 7 Series Hybrid will cost approximately Rs 1 crore and will be available only as a CBU.

Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG
Mercedes Benz’s most affordable car with the AMG badge (AMG is Mercedes Benz’s in-house performance tuning department) is coming to India on 22nd July, 2014. The car comes as a CBU from their production plant in Germany. The Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG comes with a 2 liter engine and 7 speed automatic gearbox with dual clutch for smoother and brutal output on the tarmac.
As we mentioned, the Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG is also a CBU import only model which will cost about Rs 70 lakh.

Honda Mobilio
Honda Mobilio will take the competition right to the Toyota Innova and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the 7 seater, luxury family carrier segment aka MPV. The latest Honda vehicle will be launched on 23rd July, 2014. The Honda Mobilio will be available as a petrol and a diesel engine variant.
A sportier RS version with a 1.5 liter Diesel engine with beefier bumpers and bigger headlamps is also expected to be launched soon.
The Honda Mobilio will be manufactured in India and will cost about Rs 8 lakh.

Tata Zest
Tata is eyeing the market created by the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and the Honda Amaze by launching their own version of a compact sedan. It can be assumed that the Tata Zest is the sedan version of the Tata Indica similar to how the Honda Amaze is the sedan version of Honda Brio or the way the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire is the sedan version of the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The Tata Zest comes with a turbo petrol engine and an automatic gearbox and also a touch screen user interface for entertainment. There is also the option of a turbo diesel variant with the interiors said to be much better than usual Tata car standards.
The Tata Zest will be manufactured in India and will cost about Rs 5 lakh.

Volkswagen Polo Facelift
Unlike the other cars on this list of car launches in July 2014, Volkswagen’s contribution is not a new model but a newer looking model of the Volkswagen Polo. With a launch date set for 15th July, 2014, the facelifted car gets a new 1.5 liter turbo diesel engine among other smaller changes.
The main competition to the Volkswagen Polo is the Nissan Micra when it comes to power and performance in the hatchback segment.
The Volkswagen Polo will be manufactured in India and will cost about Rs 6 lakh.
