Maruti has launched its much awaited hatchback Maruti Celerio in Delhi Auto Expo 2014. Celerio is based on the Suzuki Astar concept production version and  retains the aggressive design.

The Maruti Celerio isn’t a tall car by design but thanks to the generous 165mm ground clearance it does look tall. The glass house is similar to that of Estilo. The front end has slight resemblance with Etios Liva to it. The interior of Celerio isn’t any different from the other Maruti Cars. Though the design is not that extra ordinary it is not out dated as well. Celerio is quiet a spacious hatchback, with high quality of fabric and plastic used by Maruti.

Maruti Celerio is available in automatic variant but the Celerio's automatic technology is different from conventional auto transmission as it does not shift gears itself and this makes Celerio Automatic as fuel efficient as the manual variant.Maruti calls it automated manual transmission as Celerio does not have a clutch pedal and the gear function is similar to ant automatic variant, the gear up to go up and down to change the gears. This automatic variant is priced at INR 4.29 laks and INR 4.59 for the lxi and vxi variant respectively which makes Celerio one of the cheapest automatic car in the market. The price for the manual variants starts from INR 3.90 lakhs.
